Free access to Children on World Tourism Day

Valletta Living History will be granting free access to all children under the age of 14 when accompanied by a paying adult to view the audiovisual docudrama on World Tourism Day which falls on the 27th September.

This initiative was taken in order to promote Valletta and Maltese heritage to the younger generations in order for them to better appreciate and value what our islands have to offer.

Valletta Living History is a 35 minute historical reenactment docudrama depicting the history, culture and lifestyle of Malta and the Maltese.  It is screening daily at the Embassy Complex in St. Lucia Street, Valletta.  With the use of original shots, computer generated imagery and archive footage, this production has managed to encapsulate the main events in Malta’s chequered history.

World Tourism Day, is a global observance to highlight tourism’s social, cultural, political and economic value.  This year it is being held under the theme Tourism and Community Development - focusing on the ability of tourism to empower people and provide them with skills to achieve change in their local communities.  The initiative is led by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation and locally by the Malta Tourism Authority.
